Nestled in a cozy cove off the west shore of Lake Winnebago is the AirVenture Seaplane Base, the site of EAA AirVentures' annual "Splash-In". It's the center of activities for those with an interest in water-based aviation, and over the years as EAA has grown, so has participation at the Seaplane Base.

This premium seaplane "spot" is open to all who attend AirVenture, however, this is not a registered seaplane base the remaining 51 weeks of the year. The Seaplane Base is private land which is owned by the Vette and Blust families.

In 2009, 101 seaplanes and amphibians registered during AirVenture.

Bus transportation to the Seaplane Base is offered every day during AirVenture, departing from the Bus Park at Wittman Field.

The volunteer staff at the Seaplane Base will have a number of fun activities throughout the week of AirVenture 2009. You're invited to come and see what's going on and enjoy the unique facet of "water flying" at the AirVenture Seaplane Base.
